My boyfriend and I went to Café Nucleus for breakfast after it was recommended to us by Kallie. She actually recommended the Rochester one however, we had no idea that there were two!

In terms of location, its not one of the best spots to have a café as Chatham highstreet is known for being a little bit on the rough side. Despite this, the café itself was lovely! You wouldn’t believe that it was actually on Chatham highstreet because as soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is amazing. They play slow house music out in the garden and there are lots of plants, a lovely seating area and the whole vibe is very chilled. We chose to sit outside because it was a nice sunny day so I didn’t actually get a chance to look inside, but I’m sure that it is just as nice!

The staff in there were so nice and attentive and, they checked our temperature and gave us hand sanitiser upon arrival due to the Covid outbreak. They also ensured that we were sat down and seen to as quick as possible and our food was also brought out very promptly. The only downside was the fact that I could hear the kitchen staff shouting in the back about burnt toast which wasn’t the most professional thing – apart from that they were all amazing!

To begin with, Martin ordered a Coca Cola and I got their mango and passionfruit smoothie. I couldn’t really tell whether I enjoyed the smoothie or not – It was quite thick and had lots of bits in it which I didn’t enjoy very much. However, the actual taste of the smoothie was really nice and refreshing!

We then ordered the Canadian breakfast which consisted of: Scrambled egg, two sausages, two bits of bacon, toast, pancakes and syrup. This was delicious and I cleared my plate so quickly. It is definitely enough to completely fill you up – so much so that I ended up having a nap afterwards (but lets blame it on the heat and the food…not because I’m lazy)
