I attended The Broadwick with my friend Amy and we had a very pleasant experience from start to finish!
It didn’t start off great as when we got there we gave our names over for the booking and they said that we hadn’t booked. We then checked our email and it actually turned out that Amy had booked for the wrong day (If you know me and Amy, you know that every time we do anything something goes wrong!)
Anyway, after completely embarrassing ourselves the waiter allowed us to sit on one of the free tables which was lovely of him because they were actually fully booked! Initial thoughts were that the interior decoration was really nice. I have been to The Broadwick a couple of times with family and I had noticed that it has been done up which was nice. We sat on some large, emerald green material chairs. The only downside was the sticky table which I think is due to the constant cleaning products on the table during the Covid outbreak. I was slightly sceptical coming back to The Broadwick because my family and I had a couple unpleasant experiences there before but I continued to keep an open mind.
The waitress that served us was lovely and smiley and very helpful. We were served within about 5 minutes however before that, they brought over two glasses with a bottle of tap water, ice and a little bowl of popcorn which was a very nice touch. Amy and I ordered a Coca Cola and a Lemonade and then for main we both ordered the chicken, bacon and avocado salad. I don’t usually get salads at restaurants as I find them boring however, as I was still pretty full from breakfast, I thought it would be a good idea.
The food took around 15 minutes to come out which was a very good time. The presentation was great and they also gave us four little, warm tortilla triangles too which was a nice touch as sometimes I stay away from salad as it is all cold and feels boring.
The food itself was really nice, beautiful flavours and it definitely wasn’t like a typical boring salad. The chicken and bacon was cooked very nicely and it was a very good portion size too so it filled me up perfectly. The waitress was then very kind and offered a dessert menu however I was extremely full by this point so we just asked for the bill. They brought this over within about 5 minutes and she was very kind and polite.
Overall, The Broadwick was a great experience and I would definitely go there again. I would like to try the chicken thighs next time as they looked lovely!
