Tuesday 4th August 2020
My boyfriend and I attended the Greenwich Peninsula Golf Range as a random Tuesday evening activity (and so we could take advantage of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme afterwards).
We got there at around 5:30pm as we had a bay booked for 6pm. We had to wait at the desk for quite a while as they were busy. The only thing that annoyed me slightly was that the people behind the desk didn’t acknowledge us at all to say hello or tell us that they would be with us soon (maybe that’s just me being petty but we did wait there for a good 15 minutes before they spoke to us)
We paid £27 in total and that was for one club (wood) and for both of us to use the bay. I didn’t really know what to expect as no one I know has actually been there before. We got a quick drink and sat by the bar/restaurant bit beforehand as we were slightly early. The bar area was very nice and clean and all of the staff were really nice, welcoming and polite.
As we got to our bay at dead on 6pm, there were still two people on there but it was fine because as soon as we turned up they let us have the bay straight away.
There is a little screen on the bay and you can play lots of different games. Our favourite was the target game – you have to hit the ball into certain areas and, depending on which area you hit it into, you get a certain amount of points. There were at least 5 different games on there to play and it was so fun! I would have liked to have the bay slightly longer than an hour as we didn’t get chance to get through all of the games.
I think the only thing I would improve would be our golf skills because we played VERY poorly. Apart from that, it was a great experience! The staff were nice, it was very clean and the golf itself was very fun. They have lots for you to play so you definitely won’t get bored!
I would definitely recommend going at sunset because the view is so amazing! You can see so much of London and it just makes the experience SO much better!
