My boyfriend and our two best friends visited Opa for our first night in Bath. From the outside, it looks like a normal restaurant and doesn’t look as if it’s going to be THAT good but, once you walk down the stairs it’s entirely different!
First impressions were…AMAZING! As you walk down the stairs there is a small waterfall on the wall with the Opa sign on it and then as you walk into the underground restaurant it completely opens up and that’s where you first experience the amazing, authentic Greek feel.
We had booked a table for 8:30 however when we arrived we had to wait a little while because it was rather busy (as expected) so we waited on some comfy seats while our table was being cleaned. We were then walked through the restaurant to go to our table at the back and that gave us a chance to really take in just how beautiful the restaurant actually was! (check out my TikTok below to see the inside!)
We were seated and served very quickly and, as usual, we ordered a couple rounds of cocktails which ended up being an absolute bonus because we arrived just in time for two for one cocktails. All four of us ordered the chicken shish kebab (I know…very spontaneous and original) and we also ordered the grilled halloumi to start. If you go to this restaurant you HAVE to get the grilled halloumi, it was insane! To drink we had two strawberry daiquiri’s each which were equally as delicious.
Due to Boris cutting our meal short at 10, sadly we had to rush slightly to eat our food and pay (which wasn’t the restaurant’s fault at all). It was a shame because I was having such a lovely time in there that I completely forgot that I actually had to get out at some point. If it has been normal circumstances, past a certain time the restaurant turns into a bar/club and the vibe is meant to be so good so I will definitely go back once Corona stops taking over everyones lives.
Overall, I would 100% recommend this restaurant. Their interior decoration is impeccable, their food is delicious and the staff there are extremely tentative and make you feel like the only person in the room. If you go to Bath, please don’t forget to go here!
