Myself and my friend Connor went for a walk at Jeskyns Community Woodland after hearing about it from my mum. It’s not too far from me (see the map below for exact location) and the weather was pretty decent so we decided to go!
Parking is pretty reasonable, I paid £1.50 for two hours which I didn’t think was too bad. As it was so cold and I didn’t have gloves, we decided to get a hot drink to carry around with us to keep us a little warmer. The queue was pretty big outside the café because we weren’t allowed inside (due to covid) but they were pretty good and got our order quite quickly! I got a hot chocolate and Connor got a cup of tea. I think I paid around £5 for both drinks which is pretty dear to be honest so if you choose to go, maybe bring your own hot drink in a flask.
Once we received our drinks, we walked round the park for about an hour and a half. It was really nice and there are lots of different routes you can take! The park itself is very big so, because it was quite busy, people were naturally distanced from you which is good considering it is in Tier 4. What I also liked about it were the concrete paths for you to walk on. Sometimes when you visit somewhere for a walk it is very muddy so it was nice to have something to actually walk on.
There is a lovely little pond in the middle and there are some lovely places to get some scenic photos (if you fancy it!)
Overall, It was lovely there. It was quite busy so there may be a chance that you can’t get parking but apart from that, the walking routes are really nice and its very scenic. It’s definitely a good place to go while you’re in Tier 4!
