My boyfriend and I took our two brothers to Alton Towers during the June half term and decided to stay in an Airbnb. It took us ages to find one as most of them were sold out due to the time we booked (and stupid Covid), but we finally managed to find this one and I’m so glad we did! The Airbnb is only around 25 minutes from Alton Towers which is ideal as we wanted to get there early to ensure we missed the queues.
The cottage itself is really easy to find and it is located on a main road (so hopefully you won’t get lost). It is also very close to shops so you don’t need to worry if you forget anything. When we first arrived there, I was completely blown away. The view is absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset! There are plenty of parking spaces and there is a cute, little garden table outside in front of the view (perfect for an early morning breakfast)
The interior decoration was absolutely stunning and very historic. Usually dated design isn’t my cup of tea but I thought this was so lovely, especially the large wooden beams!
The Airbnb has three bedrooms; two queen rooms and a twin room, so it can accommodate up to 6 people. It is also very spacious and has a lovely living room, two bathrooms, an open plan kitchen, and a utility room for washing and ironing etc. It also had lots of utensils such as; pots, pans, cutlery, tea towels etc so again, you won’t need to worry if you forget anything. I was hoping for some condiments as we didn’t bring any with us but the host didn’t have any.
The host was great, he answered his messages quickly and was very efficient. When we first arrived, the power had tripped and needed to be switched on via the fuse box. We asked the host and he replied immediately to help out (as it was getting dark and we REALLY needed some electric). Apart from that, we had absolutely no issues at all.
Overall, the price for the Airbnb (at the time of booking) was £200 per night. I did at first think this was quite pricey however, considering the half term and how lovely it was, I definitely think it was worth it.
If you are looking for a beautiful, historic, and spacious airbnb for your trip to Alton Towers or just a British staycation, then I highly recommend this Airbnb – book it, you won’t be disappointed.
