In the mood for some authentic Indian cuisine? I can tell you now, you won’t find better than Spice Fusion in Medway. My boyfriend and I visited this Indian restaurant for dinner and all of my expectations were exceeded drastically.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by friendly, welcoming and tentative staff that will get you a drink and have you seated immediately. Not only that, but the restaurant is decorated beautifully. It is bright, colourful and has a lovely seating area (indoors and outdoors) at the bar. They also have a flower wall which is perfect for Insta pics (must have of course!)

We were seated in a lovely booth with a perfectly set table. The first thing I noticed was the menu. It was full of choice but it wasn’t cluttered at all. In most Indian restaurants I have visited, they have a typical book menu however, Spice Fusion have switched it up and gone for a paper style menu with two sides which is SO much easier to read. I also noticed that, not only do they offer stunning, authentic Indian dishes, they also offer alternatives for those who aren’t fans of curry and they also have some Chinese style options. If that wasn’t enough, they also have a dedicated vegetarian and vegan menu!

You are also provided with a drinks and desserts menu. I was shocked to see such beautiful desserts on offer. They work collaboratively with Ellinors which is a local desserts company (originally known for their ice cream trucks). I was particularly impressed by this because most Indian restaurants I have been to have never really offered ‘out of the norm’ desserts.

I decided that I wanted to go for something different as I usually tend to get the same thing every time I go to an Indian restaurant. The owner, Rajeev was extremely helpful. He ended up choosing our mains and starters for us and I was certainly NOT disappointed. Our full order is below:

Starters:

  • Bang Bang Cauliflower
  • Colopatra

Mains:

  • Cotton Green Chicken
  • Pilau Rice
  • Garam Garam Lamb Bhartan
  • Stilton Naan

Each and every dish we had was cooked to perfection and the flavours were incredible! As I’m not great with spice, I asked them to tone it down slightly and they did just that! As Rajeev took our order, he gave a small explanation about each dish and I loved hearing the story behind why they serve each of them. He told us that the colopatra was his mothers recipe which made it all the more amazing. I want to specifically mention their new addition, the Bang Bang cauliflower. It was absolutely delicious and it tasted incredible! I’m not usually a huge fan of cauliflower however Rajeev explained that it had been a hit with their customers so I gave it a try and I’m so glad I did!

Spice Fusion also offer a takeaway service through Just Eat and Uber Eats so if you’re not up for going out, you can still enjoy a delicious Indian Takeaway indoors.

After eating our bodyweight in food, we had a few more drinks and sat and chatted with Rajeev who told us that all of their food is locally sourced and freshly made in house – which makes it even better. His passion and love for his restaurant is abundantly clear and it certainly comes across when you taste the food and meet the staff.
