I visited Benihana for a work/birthday night out and it was amazing! As soon as you walk in the staff are really friendly and make a big effort to greet you and sit you down as soon as possible.
Our table was at the back of the restaurant and isn’t too close to everyone which I like as it’s not always the best when you have to sit right next to people you don’t know. In terms of the actual table setup, it was in a semi-circle around a cooking area so you could see how everything was being made.
Our server/chef was incredible! He came straight out with a few other staff and they brought a trolley of food over which was ready to be cooked straight away. All we had to do was choose what meat/fish we wanted from the menu and then he got right to it.
I chose chicken, steak and prawns which was absolutely delicious. I also got rice with this and a little starter of onion soup which was also so nice. However, the main part of the meal was the show! We watched everything being made and the chef was hilarious. He joked around with the food, made the rice into a heart and he was throwing things everywhere! My favourite part was when he put the onions on top of each other and set it on fire.
The only down side to it being cooked in front of you is that you get absolutely boiling! I was wearing a black dress with short sleeves and I was so hot so make sure you wear something short sleeved (and don’t drink too much wine like me because that also made me very hot)
Overall, I thought Benihana was amazing and it’s definitely a MUST DO experience! The food was ace and so were the staff. If you want to visit somewhere a little different, this is your place!

The Benihana I visited was in Piccadilly Circus however they have now closed this one and are moving to a new location in Spring 2022: Maiden Lane, Covent Garden in Spring 2022.
